2nd day IG-takeover by @studio.binschtok: on #throwbacktuesday I would like to present 'Suspicious Minds' from 2009 sound on 📶 🕶🕶🕶🕶🕶🕶🕶🕶🕶🕶🕶 #SuspiciousMinds is a series of cropped press images from different print magazines and news papers that I found and collected at the beginning of this century. The origin press-images were showing leading male politicians in the center. Through my cut-out I shift the focus of attention from the main subject of the picture to the figure in the background. These well-dressed poker-faced men stand descretely in the spotlight of public events watching over others, yet being watched themselves by the cameras recording the event. I think all these faces from different political contexts have something in common. They look alike in their efforts to find the enemy of the system and protect power. 3rd day of IG-takeover by @studio.binschtok: ‚Endless Cluster’ is an ongoing series of bright, almost colorless images. It is an attempt to transfer the virtual migration of digital images into physical space using image search algorithms. The neverending movement of the ‚white noise’ becomes visible through concrete visual references from one image to the next. happy #mayday! it’s my last takeover post: ‘I made these photograms in June 2018 and their message is simple and clear: t r u c k f u m p ! The idea was in response to the terrible news from the US-Mexico Border, where families were separated by the U.S. government as part of the ‚zero tolerance‘ policy. It was hard to witness this tragedy on the daily news, so I made these protest signs to express my anger towards the man responsible.’ @studio.binschtok The photograms are part of ‚the plates of the present‘ @thomasfougeirol – a photogram project with over 1000 prints by 130 artists. The entire archive is part of the permanent collection of @centrepompidou Paris where it is planned to be exhibited in October 2020. #ViktoriaBinschtok #GalerieKlemms
