In the interview, Adrian Sauer (* 1976, Berlin, GDR) talks about how he came to photography, how he understands the medium and about his concrete „aesthetic implementation of intellectual questions“.

The show offers an insight into Adrian Sauer’s artistic practice through seven series of works created between 2014 and 2021. In his multimedia approach, Adrian Sauer breaks with common notions that impose fixed boundaries on the photographic image. The artist resists ideological thought patterns and pleads for open possibilities of definition that allow a computer-generated image, an object or a sound installation to be considered a manifestation of the photographic idea.

The exhibition takes place within the framework of the fourth international triennial RAY 2021 Fotografieprojekte Frankfurt/RheinMain.
