For our second post, we are delighted to present ’no ID‘ a work by Keltie Ferris
installed at the house of Kai Bender, in Berlin.

In her body print series, Keltie Ferris marks art history with her own physical presence. I perceive it as claiming painterly gestures explored by former artist generations (like Yves Klein), and re-framing them in a contemporary context, representing questions of identity, queerness, and female empowerment. We decided to hang „no ID“ next to other contemporary work related to the human body – its appearance, vanishing, and leftovers – by artists Daniel Richter, André Butzer, Marc Desgrandchamps, and Cyprien Gaillard.” Kai Bender.

The artist Keltie Ferris is keenly aware of the historical legacy of body prints. She is fascinated by the ancient roots of this technique, as well as the role of body prints as a declarative “I am here’ statement. For the past five years, she has created body prints as a practice running parallel to her continuing commitment to creating large abstract paint-ings.’ Miranda Lash in ‘Keltie Ferris >>A>DECADE’, 2020.
