On the occasion of our 6th installment of the ‘@ Home series’ we are delighted to share an insight into Ivo Wessel’s collection with a work by Sven Johne, ‘Vinta’, 2004.

“My first contact on the first evening of the gallery’s first day, spring 2004. ‚Vinta‘ by Sven Johne. Love at first sight. Knew neither the artist nor the gallery. Since then, both have grown very close to my heart, and ‚Vinta‘ became a permanent roommate. Lots of offspring in the meantime. Not all of them live on the first floor; some snooze in the depot or are having a day out. Collecting is as visible as possible. (Ivo Wessel, Berlin)”

“Meine erster Kontakt am ersten Abend des ersten Tages der Galerie, Frühjahr 2004. ‚Vinta‘ von Sven Johne. Liebe auf den ersten Blick. Kannte weder Künstler noch Galerie. Seitdem beide sehr ans Herz gewachsen, und ‚Vinta‘ ein ständiger Mitbewohner. Viel Nachwuchs inzwischen. Nicht alle wohnen Beletage; manche dösen im Depot oder haben gerade Ausgang.
