As a part of the INSIDE/OUT Lecture Series 2016/17 organized by Professor Simon Morris of Leeds Beckett University, Erica Baum has given a lecture about her practice and works, referring on the one hand to other contemporary artists working with text including Ed Ruscha and Lawrence Weiner, and on the other hand to photographers such as Walker Evans and Eugène Atget who are famous for their documentary photography.

In partnership with Leeds Beckett University, the journal Inscription is to be published in September, 2020. It will feature Erica’s work Hypnotized (2008) from the series Naked Eye as its cover (below). Attached is the Call for Papers for the forthcoming journal!
